Hello! Thank you for stopping to look at my website!

My name is Nerys, I am the owner and trainer at Calanhaf Dog Training Club.  I was born into a family owned by many dogs, my love always being to the Shetland Sheepdogs and Working Sheepdogs that were constantly at my side from day 1!

In 1997 I went to pick up the new family Sheltie who changed my life forever, I declared on my way home whilst she was cuddled on my lap that I had never owned my very own dog (I was 11 years old!), she was registered in my name and as they say the rest is history.  I started showing her at breed shows and enrolled her into the local dog training club for a puppy course.  Her name was Lady (Landover Lady Sings The Blue) and together we competed in obedience, agility, breed shows, we visited care homes as Pets As Therapy partners and made it to qualify and compete at Crufts twice in the Young Kennel Club.  She was a little dog that taught me so much, introduced me to many people and through her, competed all over the country which I hold many wonderful memories.

I now mainly compete in obedience with my fur footed family that consists of Fflur, Haf, Sky, Mac, Pink, Taran, Finn and Mina.  We also do a bit of rally training and scent work.  To find out more about them have a look at my dogs page.

I am currently studing for my KCAI accreditation.

Since 2015 I have been judging competition obedience at club matches and in 2016 started judging obedience at Kennel Club shows.

I have also previously shown dogs at Kennel Club breed shows and have completed judging appointments for Shetland sheepdogs.

I have also completed my judging exams and required seminars for rally obedience.

Calanhaf was started to help train handlers, to train their dogs in obedience, to set them off to the best start in life!
